Bright Star Talent is recruiting on behalf of a specialist school supporting autistic children and young people aged 11–19 years.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a highly supportive team, delivering outstanding education and helping every pupil achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and communication development.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
  • Use autism-friendly teaching strategies and positive behaviour support approaches.
  • Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching where required.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and personal growth.
  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with autistic children and young people or pupils with additional needs is desirable.
  • A patient, resilient and caring approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to obtain one prior to employment.
