This role will be key in delivering and assisting with high quality engagement with children supporting their developmental needs, whilst ensuring the highest levels of supervision is maintained. You will be supporting and maintain our nursery policies and procedures and continuously demonstrate and adhere to safe working practices.

This includes role modelling behaviour in line with our policies and procedures to deliver exceptional care and education.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the highest care and education standards and ensure secure knowledge and understanding of Policies and Procedures.

  • Learning and development knowledge of EYFS 2024 curriculum and regulatory standards and implement and deliver this within daily practice.

  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication with all parents of the nursery and wider community including professionals and colleagues.

  • Working as part of the team to ensure all essential day to day tasks are completed in line with the demands of the nursery you are working within i.e., Hygiene standards and room preparation.

  • Promote and follow guidelines implemented for managing children’s behaviour.

  • You have the responsibility to ensure the children you care for are fully supervised and remain safe and well and you lead by example and drive the culture of Safeguarding Children.

  • Key person to ensure each child needs are met.

  • To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people you are responsible for or come into contact with.

  • Communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues.

  • Manage daily activities and routines within the nursery setting.

  • Utilise experience in childcare to create engaging learning opportunities.

  • Drive the implementation of educational programmes.

  • Demonstrate leadership skills in guiding and supporting children.

Are you keen to learn and develop new skills?, We are currently recruiting for reliable, passionate and experience level 2/3 or above Nursery Practitioners with clear knowledge and understanding of the EYFS requirements and Safeguarding practice and procedures, and a consistency approach to practice to join our lovely team of practitioners at our Walthamstow nursery., * Over 3 years work experience within the Early Years Sector (Day Nursery)

  • Clear and confident Knowledge of the Early Year’s curriculum and regulatory requirements including safeguarding knowledge and practice., * 12 hours paediatric first aid (Can be completed within the company).

  • Food Hygiene or equivalent training and compliance in food management (Can be completed within the company).

  • Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly.

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Childcare or relevant field.

  • Experience working with young children in a nursery environment.

  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

  • Strong understanding of nursery practices and child development principles., * Ability to communicate clearly with adults and children using a variety of techniques (oral and in writing)

  • Ability to support and inspire children in achieving the highest standards of care and education.

  • Ability to manage own workload and manage time effectively.

  • Able and competent user of ICT systems

  • Professional attitude, reliable, and flexible approach to work

  • Desire and passion for ongoing learning and personal development within the childcare sector., A-Level or equivalent (preferred), Nursery: 4 years (preferred)

  • Nursery experience: 4 years (preferred)

  • Childcare: 4 years (preferred)
