I am assisting an established and highly regarded Dartford based Electrical business in their search for a Purchasing & Stock Manager. The ideal person should have relevant experience gained from the Electrical industry.
The Role
We’re searching for an individual who is familiar with the electrical wholesale supply base who can build solid business relationships with suppliers, whilst having a trained eye on stock levels. Can you expertly forward plan resources to ensure adequate and timely supply?
About the company
It’s a busy, growing company situated on the outskirts of central Dartford, Kent, which genuinely values and rewards their people for their efforts. The company operates within the commercial electrical installation and testing arena and enjoys supporting a wide and varied client base.
Your Day-to-Day Might Include:
- Scouring suppliers for the best prices on everything from materials and fixings, right down to the last clip or fuse
- Processing supplier invoicing
- Updating inhouse CRM
- Managing stock levels so they never run out (or drown in a sea of surplus cable ties)
- Placing orders, tracking deliveries, and smoothing out any hiccups along the way
- Pick and prepare all materials required for upcoming jobs
- Keeping the storerooms shipshape, maintaining an accurate inventory
- Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with suppliers and wholesalers and negotiate the very best prices, terms, and delivery times
- Receiving deliveries and verifying these against purchase orders for accurate quality and quantities
- Working closely with site teams to make sure their wishes come true (or at least their material requests)
What we are looking for
- Experience in purchasing AND stock management – from within an electrical environment
- A pro at negotiating, with a sixth sense for spotting potential supply and timing issues
- An expert for securing the very best prices and terms
- Organised, proactive, and unflappable when something might be needed yesterday
- Familiar with CRM software
- Inquisitive and always researching opportunities to reduce costs, whilst maintaining quality
