We are seeking an experienced Fire Door Installation and Maintenance Technician for an expanding fire safety company based in the Croydon area. This exciting opportunity is an ideal fit for a reliable, professional and highly customer-focused individual who takes pride in quality workmanship. The successful applicant will work across residential, commercial and public-sector sites, carrying out fire door installations, adjustments, remedial works and maintenance. You will be expected to work to current UK fire door regulations and recognised industry standards, ensuring all works are completed safely, accurately and to a high standard.

Key Duties

  • Install, maintain, adjust and repair fire doors, frames, seals, closers, hinges, glazing and ironmongery
  • Carry out remedial works and identify any defects or compliance issues
  • Complete basic job records, photographs and reports where required
  • Represent the company professionally when dealing with clients, residents, site managers and members of the public
  • Maintain safe working practices and keep work areas tidy and secure

Requirements and Experience

  • A minimum of 3-years’ previous experience in fire door installation, maintenance, inspection or remedial works
  • An existing (valid) FireQual qualification – desirable
  • A full working understanding of UK fire door regulations and the importance of compliant fire door performance
  • BM TRADA certification is highly desirable
  • Own van and tools are essential
  • Full (clean) UK driving licence
  • Happy to be engaged on an on-going subcontracted basis
  • A current DBS check
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in completing work properly
  • Extremely customer friendly, polite and professional at all times
  • Reliable, organised and able to work with minimal supervision
