We are recruiting for an experienced Home Manager to lead the commissioning of a brand new, purpose-built care home in Cornwall, due to open in early 2027. This is a key appointment, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the home from pre-opening through to stabilisation, working with a well-funded and growing care provider focused on delivering high-quality care.

The Role

As Home Manager, you will be responsible for the successful launch and day-to-day running of the home. You will lead on recruitment, occupancy, compliance and overall performance, ensuring high standards of care are delivered from day one. You will work closely with senior leadership to build a strong team, establish systems and processes, and develop the home into a successful and well-performing service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full commissioning process from pre-opening through to occupancy growth
  • Recruit, train and develop a new team
  • Drive occupancy through marketing, networking and enquiry management
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and maintain high-quality care delivery
  • Manage budgets, staffing and overall performance of the home
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families and external stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experienced Home Manager within elderly residential / nursing care
  • Previous commissioning experience is essential
  • Strong understanding of CQC, governance and compliance
