Salary: £37,000–£40,000 plus Ofsted bonus. Bright Selection is recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to help establish a new six-bed children’s residential home supporting young people affected by complex childhood trauma. The home will use a holistic and therapeutic approach to assess young people’s needs, support their recovery and create positive long-term outcomes. This is an opportunity to join the service before opening and help recruit the team, establish the home’s culture and embed strong working practices from the outset. The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced Home Manager who has progressed internally within the organisation. This is a hands-on role, split approximately 50% between management responsibilities and direct work with the young people.
The role will include:
- Supporting the commissioning and opening of the new home
- Assisting with the recruitment and development of the staff team
- Supporting the day-to-day management of the service
- Leading shifts and deputising for the Home Manager
- Providing direct care and therapeutic support
- Maintaining strong safeguarding and regulatory standards
- Supporting care planning, rotas, audits and quality assurance
- Helping to create a positive, consistent and child-focused culture
Essential requirements:
- Level 3 Residential Childcare or Children and Young People’s Workforce
- At least two years’ experience within a children’s residential home
- Previous senior or supervisory experience
- Experience supporting young people affected by complex trauma
- Strong safeguarding knowledge
- The ability to lead shifts while remaining actively involved in direct care
- A resilient, organised and child-focused approach
