We're working in partnership with a national charity delivering support to people with learning disabilities and autism recruiting for an experienced bid professional to join the team on an interim basis. This role is critical in maintaining momentum across their high-performing bid writing function during a time of transition. You'll bring leadership, stability, and drive as you support the team to continue delivering compelling, strategic bids for health and social care contracts.
The Role
This is a hands-on and strategic role ideal for someone who can write high-quality, persuasive tenders while also managing the end-to-end bid process and supporting a small team. You will work closely with the Director of Business Development & Innovation and other senior stakeholders to ensure bids are submitted on time, are commercially viable, and aligned with organisational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage tender opportunities from start to finish, including hosting kick-off meetings and coordinating team inputs.
- Write and submit compelling, well-structured bids that meet commissioner specifications and highlight the organisation's strengths.
- Support and mentor junior bid team members, offering guidance and fostering confidence during the transitional period.
- Engage with internal teams including operations and finance to develop compliant, commercially viable bids.
- Maintain oversight of pipeline activity, deadlines, feedback, and tender documentation.
- Ensure the team continues to operate smoothly while the charity recruits a permanent replacement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced bid writer with a successful track record in health or social care tendering.
- Able to lead on high-value, complex tenders and manage the full bid lifecycle.
- Skilled at stakeholder engagement and translating complex operational models into persuasive proposals.
- Comfortable providing reassurance and structure in a team going through change.
- Highly organised, deadline-driven, and calm under pressure.
- Previous leadership or senior-level bid experience preferred.
