An established lifting and specialist-access business is looking for an experienced Appointed Person/Lifting Supervisor to join its operation in Scotland. This is a practical, site-based position, not a purely office-based lift-planning role. You will survey sites, plan lifting operations and supervise work across Scotland and occasionally elsewhere in the UK.
You will produce clear site sketches and lifting information, which will be converted into CAD drawings by the company's back-office team.
The role will include:
- Planning and managing a variety of lifting operations
- Conducting site surveys and producing detailed sketches
- Preparing lift plans and ensuring operations comply with current legislation
- Identifying risks and ensuring work areas are prepared safely
- Supervising and instructing site teams
- Ensuring lifting equipment, accessories and tools are used correctly
- Resolving site issues and escalating concerns when necessary
- Using digital systems to document lifting operations
- Assisting with lifting supervision, slinger/signaller duties, MEWP supervision, traffic management and deliveries when required
- Travelling to sites across Scotland and occasionally elsewhere in the UK
Essential requirements:
