ay: £35,000.00 per year Job Description: QUALITY INSPECTOR ENGINEERING Wigan £35,000 per annum Permanent, full-time Early finish every Friday Bright Search is recruiting an experienced Quality Inspector for an established engineering manufacturer based in Wigan. This is a hands-on, shop-floor-based position involving the inspection of precision-engineered components throughout the manufacturing process. You will ensure that finished products meet the required engineering specifications, quality standards and customer requirements. THE ROLE Your responsibilities will include: Completing goods-inwards, in-process and final inspections Operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Inspecting components against engineering drawings and technical specifications Using micrometres, verniers, height gauges and other precision measuring equipment Accurately recording inspection results for traceability and quality audits Supporting First Article Inspection, PPAP and associated quality documentation Raising non-conformance reports and working with production teams to resolve quality issues Assisting with root-cause analysis and corrective actions Carrying out internal calibration of measuring and inspection equipment Checking surface finish, labelling and packaging integrity Maintaining a clean, organised and safety-conscious inspection area ABOUT YOU To be considered, you should have: Previous quality inspection experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment Experience operating a CMM A strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and material specifications Confidence using mechanical inspection equipment Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach Basic knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 Good communication, documentation and IT skills The ability to work effectively with production and quality colleagues Experience programming a CMM and inspecting cast components from goods-inwards verification through to final inspection would be particularly advantageous. HOURS Monday to Thursday: 7:30am4:30pm Friday: 7:30am11:30am SALARY £35,000 per annum This is a permanent, full-time, on-site opportunity offering excellent weekday hours and an early finish every Friday.
