An established and growing utilities and telecommunications business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to support the continued development of its SHEQ systems and safety culture. This is a hands-on role combining office-based responsibilities with regular site visits, working closely with the Managing Director and operational teams across multiple projects. The position would suit an experienced Health & Safety Advisor, Senior H&S Advisor or SHEQ professional looking to progress into a broader management role within a growing business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop the company's SHEQ management systems.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits.
  • Review and support the preparation of RAMS.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the business.
  • Support operational teams with risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and industry standards.
  • Manage compliance records and document control.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and external bodies.
  • Work closely with senior management to further develop the business's safety and quality standards.

Experience Required

Qualifications

Essential

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)

Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • SMSTS
  • NRSWA
  • Internal Auditor or ISO experience
  • Additional SHEQ qualifications

Package

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme following probation
  • Office based in Burscough with site visits as required
  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director
  • Two-stage interview process (Teams followed by face-to-face)
