Collections Executive / Credit Controller Skelmersdale | Around £30,000 basic plus bonus potential of around £500 per month | Monday to Friday, 9 am–5 pm | Fully office-based Are you an experienced collector or credit controller who is confident handling challenging conversations over the phone? We're recruiting for a Skelmersdale team that needs someone who can recover outstanding balances while dealing properly with customers who dispute a claim. This is a phone-based role . An administrator supports the collections team, allowing you to focus on conversations, investigations and resolutions rather than extensive paperwork. What you'll do Contact customers about outstanding balances and agree payment arrangements where the amount is owed. Listen to customers who challenge a claim and establish exactly what they dispute and why. Review the available information, investigate discrepancies and work with colleagues to determine whether the balance is correct. Explain the outcome clearly and professionally, resolving valid disputes and following up on confirmed debts. Keep accurate records of conversations, actions and agreed next steps. Manage your accounts and work towards collection and resolution targets. What you'll need You must have worked as a collector or credit controller , with substantial experience speaking to customers about overdue payments. You'll also need experience handling disputed balances or claims : asking the right questions, checking the facts and working towards a fair resolution. You'll be confident on the phone, able to handle objections without becoming confrontational, and organised enough to follow cases through to an outcome. The role is based in the Skelmersdale office five days a week , from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday . You must live within 14 miles of Skelmersdale .
