This opportunity gives you the chance to build on your electrical skills while learning the mechanical side from experienced engineers. Were recruiting for a food manufacturing business in Weeton. Youll work on a busy production site, helping to keep equipment running, responding to faults and carrying out planned maintenance. Youll have support as you develop, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility as your skills grow. What youll do Assist with electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment. Diagnose faults and help get machinery running safely after breakdowns. Complete planned preventative maintenance and record the work carried out. Work alongside experienced engineers to develop your mechanical maintenance skills. Help identify recurring issues and practical ways to improve equipment reliability. What youll need Practical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or factory environment is essential.
You might have gained it during an apprenticeship or in an early maintenance engineering role. Youll also need an electrical engineering qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent, and the confidence to work safely around production machinery. You dont need to be fully multi-skilled already, but you must be keen to develop your mechanical skills. Experience in food manufacturing would be particularly useful, but factory experience in another manufacturing sector is welcome. This role is unlikely to suit someone whose electrical experience has been solely in domestic or commercial installation, with no hands-on factory maintenance experience.
