Role Overview:
This role combines hands‑on .NET engineering across VB.NET and C# and strong SQL Server development. You’ll work within a mature code generation and configuration platform that enables developers to deliver high‑quality bespoke business applications efficiently, while still remaining deeply involved in integration work, business logic, and backend software development. The business develops B2B software products used by organisations across sectors including utilities, traffic management, wine, and whisky. Their platforms typically support between 30–200 users and are built using a shared architectural approach, allowing reusable code, common functionality, and consistent application structure across products. Rather than building every application entirely from scratch, developers work with a sophisticated internal framework and code generation tooling, configuring, extending, integrating, and refining systems to meet different client requirements. Strong SQL capability is particularly important, as much of the business logic and data‑layer complexity sits within SQL Server. This is an environment suited to developers who are curious, analytical, resilient, and motivated by building clean, maintainable software within a collaborative team.
Essential Skills:
- Commercial .NET development experience using VB.NET and/or C#
- Strong SQL Server and T‑SQL development experience
- Experience writing complex stored procedures and business logic
- Experience integrating APIs and backend systems
- Passion for clean, maintainable, robust code
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
- Ability to work within established frameworks and reusable architectures
- Professional attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Comfortable participating in detailed code reviews and technical discussions
- Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship
- Able to commute to Stirling regularly
