One of the leading players in the UK and European Energy & Renewables tech sector is hiring for an AI-first Software Engineer to join its core product development team. As a part of this high performing and collaborative group of c.10-15, you will own one of the most powerful, real-time data engines in the entire sector, recognised as the gold standard for decision making and trading.
As the team are embracing AI-powered development, they are looking for prior experience in Cursor, Github CoPilot, and other coding tools. If high-throughput, high-transaction, low-latency, real-time technologies excite you - this is about as good as it gets!

The Role:
AI-first, back-end focused, building in C#, .NET and Azure, using events-driven architecture for powerful, real-time data analytics.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Driving the evolution of the platform's architecture, spotting opportunities to improve performance, scalability and resilience
- Owning technical design decisions while staying hands-on through the full development lifecycle, from concept to delivery
- Championing engineering best practice, clean structure, testability and solid documentation
- Supporting cloud operations across Microsoft Azure, including App Services, CI/CD pipelines and Azure Front Door
- Staying ahead of the curve on emerging tools and techniques, including AI-assisted and agentic development workflows
Skills Required:
- Strong C# and .NET expertise, with a track record of designing high-performance, real-time systems
- Solid database experience
- Confidence using AI-assisted coding tools and agentic workflows day to day
- Familiarity with Agile environments and collaborative code review
- Git and Azure DevOps knowledge
- A strong communicator, able to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences
