We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer (or Software Development Engineer in Test – SDET) to join our client in Edinburgh. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the automated testing of various company applications, including desktop, mobile apps, and APIs, using Java.
Along with a competitive salary of up to £55,000, you’ll receive a robust benefits package, including:

About the Role:
As a Test Automation Engineer, you will collaborate with multiple teams to ensure the quality of the company’s applications. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting and documenting detailed exploratory testing.
- Designing and developing automated tests based on business rules and behaviors.
- Reviewing user interfaces for design, functionality, and usability.
- Interpreting and reporting test results, while advocating for quality.
- Quickly adapting to shifting priorities to meet business needs.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to company standards for change control.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong experience with Java (since most tests are written in Java).
- Proven expertise in test automation.
- Experience with test frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
- Familiarity with CI/CD technologies in the SDLC.
- Ability to design and prioritize test cases for both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Experience working with Linux OS, and ideally, knowledge of cloud-based technologies like Kubernetes.
