You will be the trusted owner of our M365 environment, keeping it secure, reliable, and genuinely useful for everyone who depends on it day to day. This isn't a pure development role. It's ideal for someone who thrives on operational ownership, has solid Power Platform skills, and is excited about growing into Copilot and AI-assisted workplace tooling. There is real scope to shape how this technology evolves across the business. A driving licence is required, as there may be occasional travel to local regional offices.

What You'll Do

  • Microsoft 365 Administration
    • Administer the M365 tenant: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Intune
    • Configure and maintain collaboration, sharing, retention, and security settings in line with governance standards
    • Manage user access, licensing, group configuration, and role assignments
    • Monitor service health, handle incidents, and coordinate vendor escalation
    • Plan and implement configuration changes from Microsoft roadmap updates
  • Power Platform
    • Support and maintain existing Power Apps and Power Automate flows
    • Build simple to moderately complex Power Apps (forms, approvals, workflow-driven apps)
    • Assist with Dataverse or SharePoint-based data models
    • Apply basic Power Platform governance controls: environments, permissions, DLP policies
    • Work with business teams to translate requirements into practical low-code solutions
  • Copilot & Modern Workplace Support
    • Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness: permissions hygiene, data exposure awareness, configuration checks
    • Help evaluate early use cases for Copilot Studio and Copilot Agents
    • Create guidance and documentation to support safe and effective Copilot usage
    • Act as a technical point of contact for Copilot questions across the business

About You

  • Essential
    • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 in a production environment
    • Practical knowledge of Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, and Entra ID
    • Experience building or supporting Power Apps and Power Automate solutions
    • Understanding of basic Power Platform governance concepts
    • Comfortable in an operational, business-facing role with clear communication skills
  • Desirable
    • Exposure to Microsoft 365 Copilot and/or Copilot Studio
    • Familiarity with Dataverse
    • Experience in a hybrid Microsoft environment (cloud + on-prem)
    • Awareness of information security, data protection, and access control principles
    • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g. MS-900, PL-900, or similar)

How to prepare for a job interview at Bright Purple Resourcing

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
