The opportunity:
This is not a standard reporting role. Our client is looking for a commercially minded analyst who is genuinely passionate about data - someone who sees insight as a tool for making better business decisions, not just producing charts for a weekly report.
You'll be embedded in a Projects team that delivers complex, bespoke, multi-million-pound solutions to international clients. Longer term, there is a clear path into broader business systems work across finance, HR and operations - making this an exceptional opportunity for someone with ambition to grow.
What you'll do:
- Design and maintain SQL-based data pipelines and Power BI dashboards giving real-time visibility of project costs, budgets and performance
- Analyse project cost data to identify risks, trends and savings opportunities, presenting findings in a way that drives action
- Work closely with project managers and commercial leads to understand their data needs and deliver solutions they'll use
- Champion the use of AI tools to automate analysis, improve data quality and streamline reporting workflows
- Identify gaps in data capture and business process, and work with stakeholders to resolve them at source
- Document data models and definitions to ensure consistent, trustworthy insight across the organisation
Skills & experience:
Essential:
- Strong SQL queries, joins, stored procedures
- Power BI report design, DAX, data modelling
- Genuine passion for data and its commercial value
- Clear communicator with non-technical stakeholders
- Analytical, cost-conscious mindset
- Self-starter who thrives with autonomy
Highly desirable:
- Practical experience with AI tools in a business context
- Systems or business analysis experience
