See it differently
You see the world through a unique lens and that’s exactly what we need. We embrace how you see things differently, it’s essential for creating a sustainable future.
Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates and students who help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.
The opportunity
Our Environmental Physics and Wind (EP&W) team comprises specialists in fluid dynamics, climate analysis, wind engineering, electro-magnetic compatibility and thermal comfort. The team combines the principles of fluid dynamics and heat transfer to design liveable, resilient cities, sustainable buildings, and to solve a wide range of complex problems across all facets of the built environment.
From your first day, you will join an unrivalled community of experts, where everyone is supported in their career path and encouraged to work towards a professional qualification. You will help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. While you will have a great deal of responsibility from day one, we will give you the chance to take on more as you progress and broaden your skills.
On this six-week placement you will undertake analysis and design on behalf of clients or in collaboration with other teams within Arup. You will use analytical and numerical methods such as CFD and dynamic thermal modelling, as well as wind tunnel modelling and other forms of testing to inform the design process. You will regularly interact with architects, developers and engineers on projects in diverse sectors including buildings, energy, industry and transport.
