The Role

Ever wondered what actually keeps a fast-growing business running smoothly behind the scenes? This is your chance to find out - properly, hands-on, not just watching from the sidelines. As our Business Operations Intern, you'll be right in the middle of our Operations team, not fetching coffee, but actually running real processes that the business depends on every single day. You'll get exposure and coaching in a range of disciplines in one internship - finance operations, people operations, member communications and office work.

This is a brilliant launchpad whether you're aiming for a career in finance, HR, operations, or just want to figure out what you're best at before committing to one path. The role is ideal for either a graduate or Industrial Placement student looking for an opportunity to experience a variety of business areas as they establish their career direction.

Specifically, you will be involved with…

  • Finance: Cash management, building relationships with suppliers and clients to make sure invoicing is smooth, timely and accurate, getting on the phone/email with clients to understand and manage payment timelines, reporting & forecasting, putting together short-term cashflow forecasts, reconciling the bank accounts, matching receipts and payments in our accounting system, managing our spend management system.
  • People: Owning the admin behind our team benefits platforms, getting involved in projects that keep the Bright Network team engaged and motivated, keeping our London office running like clockwork.
  • Member facing: Representing Bright Network to our members, managing our member support chat and getting stuck in at event days.

The responsibilities above will form your core day-to-day - but as Bright Network is a fast-paced and collaborative team, it's expected that you'll also get the opportunity to muck in across other areas of the business.

Does this sound like you?

  • You're a recent graduate or current student looking to undertake a 12-month contract / Industrial Placement.
  • You’re keen to develop your expertise further as a key contributor to a high-performing, fast-growth business.
  • You’re exceptionally organised with meticulous attention to detail.
  • You’re a confident and articulate communicator with a natural ability to build strong & long-lasting relationships.
  • You embody our values of growth mindset, will to win and trusted to deliver.

What's in it for you, as our Business Operations Intern?

  • Work on a product that’s genuinely loved by its customers.
  • An exceptional benefits package including: extremely generous holiday allowance, flexible working & work from anywhere policy, monthly wellbeing budget, enhanced pension, private healthcare, enhanced parental leave, regular team socials & more!
  • Our mission - upskilling the next generation of future talent and connecting members with opportunities they otherwise wouldn’t have access to!

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Start Date: ASAP / September 2026

Location: King's Cross with hybrid working (at least 3 days per week in the office)

Contract: 12-month fixed-term

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging Commitment: Equal opportunities for all is a core part of what we do at Bright Network. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and endeavour to run a fair and equal hiring process at all times.
