Responsibilities
- Support students and particularly a young person with epilepsy (knowledge and practice of Buccal Midazolam is essential). Training will be offered for this role.
- Manual handling and core care training skills.
- Support clients with the development of core life skills training and progression.
- Interest in cooking and teaching home economics required for this post.
- Provide personal and physical care, if required, in line with risk assessments and with dignity and respect.
- Assist in providing a safe and supportive environment.
- Promote and maintain a good standard of care practice within the day opportunities centres.
- Love of crafts desirable and assist with therapeutic activities for clients on a day‑to‑day basis would be an advantage.
- Assist in the daily preparation of day opportunities centres ensuring the premises are ready to receive clients safely and in comfort.
- Undertake any projects or duties commensurate with the nature and grade of the post as required.
Additional Responsibilities
- Adhere to all service standards, policies and procedures.
- Comply with data protection regulations, ensuring that information on clients remains confidential.
- Fully prepare for appraisal meetings.
- Full driving licence desirable.

Skills and Qualifications
A full enhanced DBS is required for this post. NVQ Level 2 in Care or 2 years’ experience in care, including personal care, and willingness to work towards this qualification.
