Salary: Up to £34,273 per annum

Full Time – 40 hrs/week – All year round

Love working with children and have the skills to lead a team? This could be the role you’ve been waiting for. Our Mill Hill Nursery is hiring a Room Leader to lead our Toddler Room and help deliver outstanding early years experiences for children and families. You’ll take real ownership of your base room, lead a team, nurture children’s development, and build genuine partnerships with families.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage your base room, ensuring daily routines and EYFS requirements are consistently met
  • Track all children’s developmental progress, identify additional needs, and plan activities that drive outstanding outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with parents through regular updates, meetings, and home learning support
  • Manage, coach, and motivate your room team, including deployment, supervisions, and performance reviews
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and report any concerns in line with policy
  • Support the Nursery Manager with cohort tracking in March, July, and November
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture where every child and staff member can thrive

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) as required by OFSTED guidelines
  • Proven experience leading or supervising a team in an early years setting
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Experience managing a group of key children and completing developmental records
  • A caring, solution-focused approach with real commitment to high-quality childcare
