Our Mill Hill Nursery is hiring a Room Leader to lead our Toddler Room and help deliver outstanding early years experiences for children and families. You’ll take real ownership of your base room, lead a team, nurture children’s development, and build genuine partnerships with families.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage your base room, ensuring daily routines and EYFS requirements are consistently met
- Track all children’s developmental progress, identify additional needs, and plan activities that drive outstanding outcomes
- Build strong relationships with parents through regular updates, meetings, and home learning support
- Manage, coach, and motivate your room team, including deployment, supervisions, and performance reviews
- Maintain safeguarding standards and report any concerns in line with policy
- Support the Nursery Manager with cohort tracking in March, July, and November
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture where every child and staff member can thrive
Qualifications
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) as required by OFSTED guidelines
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team in an early years setting
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
- Experience managing a group of key children and completing developmental records
- A caring, solution-focused approach with real commitment to high-quality childcare
