Take a look at this exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly and supportive team in Hertford. Whether you'd like full-time or part-time hours, they can offer a rota that fits your lifestyle—plus no Sundays, no OOH, and just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (with TOIL or additional pay).

Their purpose-built Hertford practice is home to a small but brilliant team: 2 Vets, 1 RVN, 2 VCAs, 1 Receptionist, and a Head Nurse.

Equipped with:

  • Separate dog and cat wards plus an isolation unit
  • Digital X-ray, ultrasound, and in-house lab with microscope
  • Capnography with pulse oximetry
  • A dedicated sterile theatre

They see a wide and interesting caseload, supported by visiting specialists who provide cardiac scans, abdominal ultrasound and sampling, and orthopaedic procedures. With longer consult times (30 mins for non-routine, 15 for vaccines) and a high proportion of insured clients, they are able to deliver the very best care.

About You

Looking for a confident RVN who is:

  • Skilled across all areas of nursing, including anesthetics and nurse clinics
  • Organised, communicative, and a real team player
  • Passionate about patient and client care
  • Keen to support the team and learn more about practice management

You’ll be involved in all aspects of practice life—from theatre and inpatient care to nurse consults and client support.

The Role

  • Full or part-time hours available
  • No OOH / no Sundays
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays (9:00–13:00, with TOIL or extra pay)
  • Weekday shifts: 8:45–17:15 or 10:45–19:15 (with a 30-min unpaid lunch)
