My client is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join this team based in Doncaster. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a welcoming and experienced team, working a four-day week with no out-of-hours or bank holiday shifts, and only around 1 in 8 Saturday mornings (with time off in lieu). Part-time applications are very welcome, and they can be flexible to fit the right person.
You’ll join a supportive team of eight vets, each bringing a range of experience and clinical interests, including certificate holders in medicine, surgery, and diagnostic imaging. You’ll always have someone to turn to for advice, and they actively encourage and invest in development across all levels of the team. They operate from two sites—one of which is a fully equipped hospital—both with consulting, surgical, and in-house lab facilities. Out-of-hours care is managed by Vets Now, who work directly from the hospital overnight, allowing continuity for in-patients without unnecessary travel or disruption.
They can shape a role around your clinical strengths and interests:
- If you're looking to develop your surgical skills, they offer advanced procedures including cruciate repairs, BOAS surgery, and laparoscopy.
- If internal medicine is your focus, the diagnostic tools such as Imagyst, ultrasound, endoscopy, dental radiography, i-STAT, and more will enable you to thoroughly work up cases on-site.
- Prefer a general mix? That’s more than welcome too—they tailor the rota to support each individual's preferences and skills.
- They are also a VetGDP approved practice and are very happy to support recent graduates with a strong mentoring and development programme.
The salary range for this role is £35,000–£65,000, depending on experience. Additional qualifications and certificates may attract a higher salary. Well-behaved pets are welcome to come to work with you!
What else is on offer:
- A standard four-day working week for full-time roles
- Approx. 1:8 Saturday mornings (8:00am–12:30pm) with time off in lieu
- Paid RCVS, VDS and one additional membership
- Funded CPD and certificate support
- 5 weeks’ holiday (plus the option to buy/sell days), and no bank holiday shifts
- Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, and sickness pay
- Healthshield cash plan
- Cycle to Work scheme
If you're looking for a role where you can grow, feel supported, and work alongside a genuinely kind and talented team, we’d love to hear from you.
