My client has proudly served its local community as a trusted and independent practice for the last 8 years. Owned and led by experienced veterinary surgeons, passionate about high-quality care, they hold a certificate in surgery. Together, they head a committed and friendly team that includes an exceptional group of RVNs, VCAs, receptionists, and a supportive Practice Manager who is also an RVN and a Head Nurse who has been with them for over five years, reflecting the emphasis on team continuity, support, and clinical excellence.
They are a standalone, purpose-built small animal practice located at the heart of Halesowen. Seeing a broad and interesting caseload, supported by a loyal client base with a high percentage of insured pets: around 45% dogs, 40% cats, 10% rabbits, and 5% small furries. Based in which Halesowen offers a great lifestyle balance—set amongst greenbelt countryside yet just 7 miles from Birmingham city centre, and close to Junction 3 of the M5 for easy commuting.
The clinic is equipped with a comprehensive range of modern tools including:
• Dental x-ray
• Laparoscopy
• Endoscopy
• Kyon TPLO kit
• Harmonic scalpel
• K-laser therapy
Most of the cases are managed in-house but they are also within easy reach (45 minutes) of a high-quality referral hospital when needed. Deeply committed to career development—certificates are encouraged and fully funded
What the Role Looks Like
• Opening hours: Monday–Friday 8am–7pm, Saturday 9am–6pm (no Sundays)
• Saturday rota: 1 in 4, consulting-only, sole charge
• Ops and consults: Dedicated ops day each week; consult-only roles also considered
• Consult times: 15 minutes, with regular catch-up breaks every 4–5 appointments
• End of day: Last consult at 6:45pm, followed by protected time for calls and notes
• Breaks: Full 1-hour lunch, plus 15–30 minutes midday admin time depending on your shift

About You
Looking for a veterinary surgeon with strong GP small animal experience and a passion for excellent patient care. If you’re a proactive team player with a growth mindset and a good sense of humour, you’ll fit right in there.
• Salary up to £65,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
