My client are a well-established, purpose-built RCVS-accredited practice for small animals and equine, set in the heart of beautiful Perthshire – recently voted the 5th best place to live in the UK.
You’ll be joining a friendly and dedicated team of vets, supported by an exceptional group of RVNs who keep the practice running smoothly and ensure every patient receives the highest level of care. They are proud of creating a positive and supportive working environment, where teamwork and professional growth are central to everything they do.
The practice is fully equipped with six consult rooms, an imaging suite, a dental suite with dental x-ray, two theatres, endoscopy, multiparameter monitoring, and full in‑house lab facilities for bloods, urinalysis, and cytology. They also work closely with visiting specialists in orthopaedic and soft‑tissue surgery, ensuring they can offer patients an excellent breadth of care.
They seek an experienced vet who enjoys being part of a close‑knit team, values strong client relationships, and thrives on delivering high‑quality clinical care. For the right candidate, there is also the opportunity to progress into a senior or Clinical Director role if management experience is something you’d like to develop.
The Role & Rota
You’ll be part of a supportive, forward‑thinking team where clinical freedom is encouraged. With two trained VetGDP advisors, ongoing development is built into the culture. The OOH rota is shared 1 in 5, with a day off following a week‑night on call and a long weekend after an on‑call weekend. Importantly, you’ll never be on your own – nurses are on‑site 24/7 to assist with emergencies, triage calls, and provide inpatient care.
They work hard to maintain a healthy work/life balance, with protected time back for the rare occasions of overtime, three early finishes a week at 5pm, and a well‑managed diary. Appointments are set at 15 minutes as standard, with double slots for complex cases, dedicated book‑on‑the‑day spaces for emergencies, and 30 minutes of catch‑up time built in before the end of each day.
Benefits & Rewards
They offer a competitive salary of up to £63,000 depending on experience, alongside 6.8 weeks of annual leave. You’ll have your RCVS and VDS fees paid, a generous CPD allowance with certificates fully funded and encouraged, and the reassurance that no reasonable training request will be refused.
Further benefits include enhanced sick pay and maternity pay, Health Shield, optional private medical insurance, and cost‑price care for your own pets. You’ll also have access to free on‑site parking, a cycle‑to‑work scheme, and a referral rewards scheme.
