Poultry Veterinary Surgeon –Yorkshire
An independent veterinary practice is looking to appoint a Veterinary Surgeon to join its established and growing poultry team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly experienced service supporting a substantial commercial poultry client base, with long‑term prospects available for the right candidate.
The practice works extensively with commercial broiler and layer units and has built a strong reputation for providing high‑quality veterinary support to its clients. The existing poultry team comprises three experienced vets with more than 30 years of combined poultry experience, supported by a highly capable field support team and dedicated administrative staff. Due to continued growth, a fourth poultry vet is now being sought to strengthen the team and help maintain consistently high clinical standards.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become involved across all aspects of commercial poultry veterinary work. This includes advising clients on disease prevention, health planning and flock management, as well as supporting audit requirements. The role offers plenty of scope to develop professionally while working alongside colleagues with significant practical experience in the sector.
The practice has invested heavily in its facilities, including purpose‑built poultry post‑mortem and laboratory facilities, as well as new, spacious premises incorporating a large farm dispensary and dedicated warehousing. This provides the team with a well‑equipped base from which to deliver a comprehensive service to its poultry clients.
The position is open to vets at all stages of their career. Experienced poultry vets are welcome to apply, while new graduates with an interest in poultry are also encouraged to consider the opportunity. Full training and support will be provided to the right candidate, making this a particularly good opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within poultry medicine.
