An established and growing small animal practice in the North East area of Nottingham is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its busy and progressive clinical team. Due to continued growth in its client base, the practice is looking to welcome a confident and motivated vet who enjoys working in a fast-paced, care-driven environment.
The Practice
This RCVS-accredited Training Practice and Gold Cat Friendly Clinic is located close to Nottingham city centre and within easy reach of the Peak District. The practice operates from bright, modern and spacious premises, offering excellent facilities designed to support high clinical standards and a varied caseload. Onsite equipment includes digital and dental X-ray, in‑house laboratory facilities, separate wards for dogs, cats and rabbits, and our own laparoscopy equipment, allowing surgeons to routinely perform laparoscopic spays and cystoscopy procedures.
The Team
The veterinary team consists of five Veterinary Surgeons with a broad mix of experience and clinical interests. Several vets hold, or are currently studying towards, certificates in areas including Exotics, Surgery and Imaging, while the Lead Vet has a strong focus on Dentistry. This breadth of expertise ensures an interesting and diverse caseload and offers excellent opportunities for learning and collaboration. The vets are supported by a dedicated nursing team of five RVNs and a knowledgeable reception team of seven, creating a well-balanced and supportive working environment.
Responsibilities
The position is full‑time, based on a 40‑hour working week, with a 1‑in‑5 weekend rota (Saturday 9:00 am–4:30 pm and Sunday 10:00 am–3:30 pm). There are no out‑of‑hours or on‑call responsibilities. The role involves delivering high standards of patient care, building strong client relationships, and collaborating with the team to provide welfare‑focused veterinary services.
Package
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary dependent on experience.
