This is a thriving, forward-thinking first opinion and referral practice with a supportive team of 24 vets, including Certificate holders in Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology and Feline Medicine, as well as a visiting Ophthalmology Diplomate. You’ll be primarily based at a large branch surgery, with the support of a 24-hour small animal hospital in Frome, where a dedicated night nurse team ensures continuous, high-quality care for their patients.

Facilities include modern consulting rooms and operating theatres equipped for laparoscopic surgery, a brand-new CT scanner, an onsite laboratory, ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray facilities, and an orthopaedic referral service. They are ISFM Cat Friendly accredited, and also offer laser therapy, isolation units, and dedicated staff areas designed to support your wellbeing at work.

They are located on the Somerset and Wiltshire border with easy access to Bath, Bristol, Salisbury and the Cotswolds, with London and the south coast reachable by train or car. This practice also provides on-site out-of-hours emergency service for continuity of care.

The large, experienced team is supported by three Lead Vets and Clinical Directors who oversee the smooth running of the practices and ensure clinicians have the support they need to thrive. There is a wide range of clinical interests including orthopedics, ECC, cardiology, internal medicine, exotics, dentistry, ultrasound imaging, and laparoscopic surgery, offering opportunities for development and varied cases.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide routine consultations and surgeries with confidence.
  • Collaborate within a large, supportive team and contribute to high standards of patient care.
  • Engage in a broad range of clinical interests and take part in ongoing professional development and case variety.
  • Utilise resources across practices in Somerset and Wiltshire with access to on-site emergency care and specialist services as appropriate.
Qualifications:
  • RCVS-registered and have completed VetGDP.
  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to ongoing learning.
