Are you an experienced orthopedic surgeon looking for a role where your skills will be valued, your development supported, and your work‐life balance respected? This Referrals practice is a busy and highly regarded specialist orthopedic referral practice seeking a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon to join a small expert team.
They are looking for candidates who hold a veterinary qualification recognised by the RCVS and are eligible to practice in the UK. The role is especially suited to RCVS Specialists in Small Animal Surgery (Orthopedics) or those who have achieved the RCVS, ECVS, or ACVS diploma in orthopedics.
This purpose‐built, recently refurbished hospital is set in a tranquil rural setting and features three fully equipped operating theatres along with an on‐site CT scanner. They offer the full range of advanced orthopedic procedures, from total hip replacement (THR) and TPLO to CUE surgery and arthroscopy. This is a role for someone who thrives on teamwork, shares a passion for orthopedic care, and enjoys interacting with both clients and referring veterinarians.
Key responsibilities
- Perform advanced orthopedic procedures including total hip replacement (THR), TPLO, CUE surgery, and arthroscopy.
- Participate in a fair share of the out‐of‐hours rota; surgeries are not performed outside of normal hours.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes an RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Surgery, a residency‐trained veterinary surgeon, an RCVS Advanced Practitioner, and an orthopaedic intern.
Working arrangements and compensation
- Flexible about working arrangements, with full‐time and part‐time candidates welcomed; part‐time (two to three days per week) is of particular interest.
- Salary is negotiable and will reflect experience, qualifications, and specialist credentials.
- Ideal location with convenient access to London (31 miles away) and the South Coast.
