Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – East Lothian
£45,000 upwards | 4-day week | No OOH | 1 in 3 Saturdays
Are you a confident and motivated vet looking for a supportive practice in a fantastic location? My client's practice could be the perfect place for you. This is a small, community-focused practice based in beautiful East Lothian, where you'll find stunning countryside and coastline right on your doorstep. At the same time, the vibrant city of Edinburgh is only 30 minutes away, offering the best of both worlds.
You'll be joining a friendly and hardworking team who pride themselves on providing excellent, personalised clinical care while supporting one another to develop and grow. They are looking for a confident small animal vet who enjoys all aspects of general practice and thrives as part of a collaborative team. The role is designed with work-life balance in mind: you'll work a four-day week, take part in a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota, and have no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities. The salary ranges from £45,000 upwards depending on experience.
Facilities and Caseload
The practice is well equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital and dental radiography, and ultrasound. Also with access to laparoscopic surgery at another branch. You'll see a varied caseload and have the chance to develop your skills with the support of experienced colleagues and visiting specialists.
They offer a generous package that includes paid RCVS and VDS cover plus one additional membership, a CPD allowance, and 6.6 weeks of annual leave. You'll also benefit from a contributory pension, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, company sick pay, Health Shield wellbeing support, employee discounts on pet care, and even a Cycle to Work scheme.
