Overview
Veterinary Surgeon – Fridays in Islington, London. This is a first-opinion GP role joining one day a week (Fridays) with potential to expand hours at a nearby practice. The clinic emphasizes continuity of care and a friendly, community-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Work sole charge on Fridays from 9am to 7pm.
- Provide routine consultations, minor surgical procedures, and triage of emergencies as needed.
- Collaborate with the regional manager and head vet for support; complex cases and out-of-hours care are available at a nearby Hospital.
Schedule and Location
- Fridays 9am–7pm.
- 1-in-4 Saturday rotation at a branch; 1-in-8 Sunday shift at the Hospital.
- Up to two bank holidays per year.
- Option to discuss expanding hours to Mondays and Tuesdays at a nearby practice (non–sole charge with a collaborative team).
Compensation and Benefits
Salary for the 13-hour-per-week sole-charge role: £19,000–£24,375 depending on experience (equivalent to £57,000–£73,000 FTE). Generous benefits: 6.6 weeks of annual leave (pro rata), private medical insurance with Bupa, up to £2,000 CPD budget per year, five days' paid CPD leave (pro rata), and relocation assistance if applicable.
