My client is seeking a wellârounded and experienced GP veterinary surgeon who thrives in a busy hospital environment and is keen to be part of the largest emergency and critical care provider in London.
Responsibilities
- Immediately manage routine surgical procedures, including bitch spays and dentistry.
- Comfortably handle emergency cases and a consistently high diagnostic imaging caseload.
- Utilise existing imaging expertise or further develop this area of interest.
Work Environment
East London Hospital delivers highâquality first opinion, emergency, critical care and referral services, supported by a local network of 20 branches. The hospital operates to the highest clinical standards and benefits from exceptional onâsite diagnostic and clinical support, including a CT scanner, commercial laboratory, and a strong medical team.
Team
The successful candidate will work as part of a large multidisciplinary team comprising approximately 25 veterinary surgeons, 27 registered veterinary nurses, 14 student veterinary nurses, 7 veterinary care assistants and a dedicated frontâofâhouse team.
Rotational Rota
The rota operates on a sixâweek rotational basis, averaging 40 hours per week and including a 1âinâ3 Saturday and 1âinâ6 Sunday weekend rota. The role includes working up to two bank holidays per year and participation in a lastâresort onâcall rota.
Location
The hospital is ideally located on the edge of urban Essex, offering easy access to both city life and the countryside. Transport links into central London are excellent, with a Central Line tube station just a short walk from the hospital. Public transport is strongly recommended.
Salary and Benefits
The salary ranges from ÂŁ45,000 to ÂŁ73,000, depending on experience, with clear scope for progression within the role.
- 6.6 weeks of annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.
- Private medical insurance with BUPA.
- CPD allowance of up to ÂŁ2,000 per year plus up to five paid CPD days.
