My client in Leominster is seeking a confident and motivated Head Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving semi-rural practice in the beautiful market town of Leominster. This role also offers the chance to spend time at another practice too, helping to strengthen links with the team, clients, and patients there.
You’ll be working alongside a supportive group of experienced vets, a skilled nursing team of nine, and eight dedicated reception and admin colleagues. This position is the perfect platform for someone who wants to develop leadership skills, shape clinical standards, and deliver outstanding patient and client care—while still enjoying a healthy work-life balance.
The role is full-time at 40 hours per week, spread over four days. You’ll take part in a 1 in 6 Saturday rota, with no out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments.
About the Role
As head Vet, you’ll be central to driving clinical excellence within the practice. That means providing first-class patient care through consultations, procedures, and monitoring, while ensuring smooth handovers and continuity for cases needing enhanced support. You’ll build strong client relationships through clear communication and care, and you’ll play a key role in mentoring and developing colleagues.
You’ll also support the growth of this new 24-hour practice, help to guide the clinical team, and contribute to shaping the culture of progressive, patient-focused veterinary care.
You’ll be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon (or someone eligible to register) with strong clinical and surgical skills, confidence in sole charge, and a team-focused mindset. You’ll be experienced in providing high standards of care, proactive in developing both people and practice, and an excellent communicator who can inspire colleagues and build lasting client trust.
