Whether you’re looking for a full‑time or part‑time role, this is a fantastic opportunity to work within a progressive, supportive, and forward‑thinking team where collaboration, care, and professional growth are at the heart of everything.
This permanent role offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will primarily be based at a branch practice in Trowbridge, with the support of a larger 24‑hour small animal hospital in Frome. The experienced night nurse team ensures round‑the‑clock patient care and you will also take part in the out‑of‑hours rota on a pro‑rata basis.
They are home to a talented team of 24 veterinary surgeons, including certificate holders in Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, and Feline Medicine, with several others currently undertaking advanced studies. They also pride themselves on working alongside a visiting Ophthalmology Diplomate. Facilities include modern operating theatres equipped for laparoscopic procedures, consulting rooms designed for comfort and efficiency, dedicated isolation areas, and an in‑house laboratory. Diagnostic imaging is supported by ultrasound, digital and dental X‑rays, and a nurse‑led laser therapy service. The hospital also boasts a new CT scanner, expanding the diagnostic and treatment capabilities even further.
All sites are ISFM‑accredited Cat Friendly Clinics, and they offer feline‑specific consultations to ensure a calm and positive experience for patients. The practice is located on the stunning Somerset and Wiltshire border, offering easy access to the historic cities of Bath, Salisbury, Bristol, and the Cotswolds. Excellent transport links, including direct routes to London and the south coast, make this an ideal location for both work and lifestyle.
This is one of the few practices in the region that operates its own out‑of‑hours emergency service and also works closely with respected referral centres, providing a wealth of expertise and collaboration opportunities.
The team is led by three Lead Vets and overseen by Clinical Directors who ensure high standards of care and professional support across their sites, where clinicians have interests spanning orthopaedics, ECC, exotics, cardiology, dentistry, internal medicine, ultrasound imaging, and laparoscopic surgery.
They are looking for a confident and compassionate vet who is comfortable with routine consultations, surgeries, and teamwork. If there are areas you’d like to develop, you’ll find outstanding support from an experienced team of vets and nurses. Strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous growth are essential, and you must be RCVS registered with VetGDP completion.
In return, you’ll enjoy a generous benefits package that includes:
- Five weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off
- Fully funded RCVS and VDS fees
- Access to both external and internal CPD
