An independent, award‑winning veterinary practice near Brighton is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a friendly, supportive team. The practice is a well‑equipped village clinic with consulting rooms, an operating theatre, modern diagnostic facilities and an in‑house IDEXX laboratory. The successful candidate will work primarily at the main clinic, with occasional visits to nearby coastal sites.
Responsibilities
- Provide nurse consultations and support veterinary surgeons
- Assist in theatre procedures and inpatient nursing
- Perform laboratory work, including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, microscopy, and Sedivue urinalysis
- Handle patient admissions and discharges and maintain clinical standards across the practice
- Supervise work‑experience students and, once training practice status is achieved, provide clinical coaching to Student Veterinary Nurses
Qualifications
- Registered with the RCVS
- Experience as an RVN or recent qualification
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Capacity to work collaboratively and deliver compassionate, patient‑focused care
Working Hours
Full‑time: 37 hours per week over four 9.25‑hour days (optional five‑day pattern or part‑time). Regular day off is Tuesday or Wednesday with a one‑in‑three Saturday morning rota. There are no out‑of‑hours responsibilities; overtime is uncommon but paid when required.
Professional Development
The practice supports continuous learning, autonomy in clinical decision‑making, and opportunities for further qualifications. Nurses are encouraged to develop their clinical interests within a collaborative team culture.
