My client in Essex are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a certificate in surgery to join the team as the practice reopens its newly refurbished, state-of-the-art site. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated clinician looking to work in a supportive, well-equipped environment with strong clinical backing.
Across its four sites, they employ a highly skilled veterinary team of 14 day vets and 3 night vets, including multiple certificate holders in disciplines such as ophthalmology, dermatology, internal medicine, cardiology, diagnostic imaging and small animal surgery. This collaborative network offers excellent opportunities for case discussion, internal referral and continued professional development.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to generate and manage their own cases, with a particular focus on orthopaedic work, while also maintaining some consulting responsibilities. This Veterinary Surgeon will work within a close-knit team of two to three vets at one of the branch sites and be supported by an experienced and dynamic nursing team, including involvement in mentoring new graduates.
The practice is well equipped, featuring five consultation rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, digital x-ray and an in-house laboratory. For more advanced diagnostics and procedures, a nearby hospital provides access to CT, MRI and endoscopy, with the opportunity to follow cases through if desired. The location is easily accessible from Hertfordshire, Essex and North London.
The ideal candidate will be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon holding a certificate in surgery, with confidence in performing procedures such as basic fracture repairs, cruciate surgery and advanced soft tissue operations. An interest in balancing surgical work with consulting duties is essential.
