An exciting opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a team in St Albans on a six-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. This position is particularly well suited to Veterinary Surgeons seeking the variety of locum work alongside the reassurance and continuity of a stable role within a single practice environment.
Situated on a busy high street in the heart of St Albans, the practice is long-established and benefits from a loyal client base and strong ties to the local community. The successful candidate will take on a sole charge position, inheriting an existing caseload and the opportunity to make an immediate impact while delivering continuity of care and building lasting client relationships.
This role offers a varied caseload, providing exposure to both medical and surgical cases, while also giving the autonomy that comes with sole charge responsibility. At the same time, support remains readily available, ensuring access to clinical guidance and collaboration when needed.
St Albans provides an attractive setting to work and live, combining historic character with a vibrant town centre and excellent transport connections. The location offers the convenience of city access while maintaining a strong community feel.
The position is based on a 40-hour working week, although part-time applications will also be considered. Weekend commitments include either one in six weekends or participation in a shared one-in-three Saturday rota, helping to maintain a balanced working pattern.
