Purpose of the Role:

Keeping Everyone Safe by continuously investigating and sharing learning that will impact the improvement of practices, processes, and behaviors underpinning a safety culture.

Sets the highest standards of behavior across the organisation in line with the HEART principles.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, deliver, and evaluate safeguarding training including face-to-face training, webinars, and Brainshark’s to embed safeguarding knowledge.
  • Plan, conduct, and summarize robust safeguarding investigations that meet the Safeguarding Threshold.
  • Support managers in preparing for ASV meetings.
  • Attend relevant external safeguarding meetings such as ASV, strategy meetings, etc.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as the police and LADO.
  • Collaborate on critical reviews of safeguarding incidents to strengthen organisational learning.
  • Complete safeguarding audit visits and triangulation visits to provide settings with clear learning and measurable actions.
  • Apply coaching skills to aid DSL’s decision-making.
  • Complete safeguarding data logs accurately and thoroughly.
  • Analyze quality data, regulatory data, and safeguarding data to inform decision-making and resource allocation.

Responsible For:

  • Cancelling safeguarding training in exceptional circumstances.
  • Categorizing incident thresholds to determine investigation levels.
  • Providing investigation outcomes in partnership with the HR department.
  • Joining allocated Safeguarding Ready to Respond Calls.
  • Supporting regional meetings with statistical data to promote learning.
  • Attending monthly safeguarding team meetings.
  • Positively impacting internal and external quality ratings.
  • Positively influencing regulatory outcomes related to safeguarding notifications.
  • Complying with safeguarding team Service Level Agreements.
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of safeguarding legislation and requirements.
  • Possessing expert knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Managing ER and HR practices effectively.
  • Completing complex investigations robustly.

Desired Experience:

  • Training qualification or experience in delivering training.
  • Coaching qualification and/or experience in coaching techniques.

Qualification:

  • Early Years/HR qualification.
