Bright Horizons is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Onboarding Officer to join our People team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring a smooth and compliant onboarding experience for new hires across our nursery network. As an Onboarding Officer, you'll be responsible for managing the full onboarding process for new starters within your assigned division. You'll work closely with our Talent Acquisition team and other stakeholders to ensure all pre-employment checks are completed in line with our Safer Recruitment Policy and Department for Education (DofE) guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires across your division
- Conduct and manage DBS checks, right to work verification, reference collection, and qualification checks
- Act as the first point of contact for onboarding and compliance queries
- Make informed suitability decisions in line with regulatory guidance
- Support weekly compliance reporting and stakeholder updates
- Deliver training and coaching on onboarding best practices and Workday usage
- Contribute to policy development and ensure adherence to internal controls
- Stay up to date with changes in legislation and sector-specific compliance requirements
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in HR, recruitment, and in a regulated environment (compliance) essential
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet compliance targets
- Experience of right to work and pre-employment checks
- Proficiency in MS Office; Bright Horizons use Workday - this experience would be advantageous
- Experience in the childcare sector is desirable but not essential
