We are seeking an Early Years Chef to join our nursery team. This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week) that involves preparing, cooking and presenting age‑appropriate food for all children while ensuring minimal wastage and accommodating dietary requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present meals for children
- Ensure all dietary needs, including food allergies, are met and communicated to staff
- Encourage healthy eating habits with children, parents and staff
- Lead cookery club sessions and support nursery activities such as BBQs, fetes and staff meetings
- Maintain high standards of food safety (Food Safety CIEH L2 or above) and COSHH compliance
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a cooking role, in a domestic or commercial setting
- Passion for nutrition and ability to inspire healthy eating
- Strong communication skills with colleagues, children and parents
- Capability to work under pressure
