An established business based in the Colchester area is looking for an experienced Workshop Manager / Production
Managerto take responsibility for the day-to-day running of its workshop and production operations.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys managing people, organising production, solving problems and making sure work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You will play a key role in coordinating the workshop team, planning workloads, managing production schedules and ensuring projects are delivered on time and in line with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the workshop and production operation.
- Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
- Allocate workloads and resources across the workshop team.
- Lead, support and develop workshop staff, ensuring clear expectations and effective communication.
- Interpret client briefs, drawings and project requirements where required.
- Monitor project progress and identify and resolve issues before they affect delivery.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently, accurately and to the required quality standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and update internal systems.
- Coordinate multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Drive improvements in productivity, quality, organisation and workshop efficiency.
- Ensure the workshop operates in a safe, professional and well-organised manner.
