Job Opportunity: Senior Care Assistant in Colchester. Brighthire Recruitment is advertising on behalf of our client, who is looking for an experienced Senior Care Assistant to join their dedicated team within a small, family-run residential care home near Colchester. The home provides residential, dementia, respite, and palliative care and is currently rated Good by the CQC. With a strong focus on person-centred care, the service is committed to creating a warm, welcoming, and homely environment. The home supports up to 28 residents and has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality care through a dedicated and supportive staff team.
Key Details:
- Permanent position
- 36 hours per week
- Flexibility required to work both days and nights
- Shift Times: 07:45 - 20:00, 19:45 - 08:00
- Paid breaks are included in all shifts.
- Pay: £14.82 per hour
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- Christmas & New Year paid at double time
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Organising and managing day-to-day shift responsibilities
- Dispensing and administering medication
- Liaising with GPs, District Nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Supporting staff with all aspects of personal care, including assisting residents with meals
- Carrying out regular wellbeing checks on residents
- Completing all required paperwork and care documentation accurately
Candidate Requirements:
- Must hold a Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Senior Care Assistant
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
- Must be flexible to cover both day and night shifts
- Due to the preferences of many of the residents, this role is open to female applicants only
- We do not offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have a valid right to work in the UK
