What you'll be doing:
- This role operates on a rota of any 5 days out of 7, based on an average 44-hour working week, and includes weekend and bank holiday working.
- As an HGV Driver, you will be responsible for delivering goods to our CDC distribution network across the UK.
- The role involves reversing your vehicle onto designated loading bays at each site, where our warehouse teams will carry out all loading and unloading of the trailer.
- Represent The Sofa Delivery Company values and those of our brand partners in everything that you do.
- Work with your team and senior managers to provide feedback and continually improve the standards of service we offer.
- Carry out daily inspections of allocated vehicles and equipment, informing the line manager of any defects/missing items immediately.
- Comply with all driving laws as defined by the government and all company policies and procedures.
The role is for you if:
- You hold a HGV / Class 1 License, Digi Tacho, CPC Card and valid UK manual driving licence (minimum 12 months, max 6 points).
- You’re great with people and enjoy helping customers.
- You’ve got strong time management skills and thrive on variety.
- You’re comfortable installing and lifting heavy furniture in different home settings.
- You take pride in your work and value safety of yourself and those around you.
- You’re ready to work as part of a supportive two-person team.
