Bright Green Business is part of the Business Partnership Ltd, which also encompasses Bright Green Hydrogen and the Midlothian & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce. Bright Green Business is well known for providing interns to companies and charities all over Scotland, and we pride ourselves on having a great reputation. We are currently looking for our own intern to take ownership of and run the internship programme for us. Although the opportunity is initially for 12 weeks, there is an option for the role to become permanent for the correct person.
The Role
Internship for 12 weeks to work as an Internship Coordinator, facilitating other people’s internships while growing the programme. Hours: Monday – Friday, 35 hour week. This role will include going to a variety of events, networking, producing marketing and promotional materials, liaising with host companies, checking on internship progress, and producing contracts.
Key Tasks
- Liaising with host companies to complete initial paperwork and advertising opportunities
- Reading and shortlisting applications
- Arranging interviews and producing contracts for hosts and successful candidates
- Being a point of contact for both intern and host, regularly checking in
- Producing extension documents where required
- Completing exit interviews and any host reporting required
- Collating materials and writing case studies
- Updating and monitoring social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Updating the website and master spreadsheet
- Networking to find new potential internship host companies
- Collaboration with accounts department for invoicing and intern wages
- Promotion of the internship programme
The Candidate
Skills required:
- Excellent customer service and strong communication skills
- Networking skills – must be confident in a room of strangers
- Literate in MS Office and SharePoint, with an understanding of mail merges
- Confident using various social media platforms
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take the task and run with it, with guidance from others
