Organisation: Farne Salmon is based in Duns, a small market town located 45 miles south of Edinburgh and 15 miles west of Berwick upon Tweed. It is the largest smoked salmon facility in Europe.

Key Tasks:
- Lead, manage, control and report on all environmental aspects of the Farne business.
- Support the Health and Safety Manager UK with compliance with health and safety legislation and the continued development of safety culture at Farne Salmon.
Key Result Areas:
- Ensure environment, health and safety compliance with regulatory requirements (legislation / policy) are met.
- Ensure processes / systems are developed, implemented and maintained within the business to deliver environmental, health and safety compliance.
- Maintain and demonstrate continual improvement in environmental standards pertaining to ISO 14001 Certification.
- Work closely with departments to improve environmental, health and safety standards through improved awareness, reporting, problem solving and local ownership.
Hygiene: As an employee you will follow the Company policy by implementing high standards of personal hygiene, following hygiene rules and carrying out responsibilities for cleaning including a ‘clean as you go’ policy. You have a responsibility under the law to follow Food Hygiene Regulations and you will do this by following our hygiene rules which will ensure the safety and quality of our products.

- Environmental regulatory compliance (legislation / policy).
- Management and Reporting of regulatory compliance (legislation / policy).
- Setting the strategy / objectives for Environmental issues / opportunities.
- Health and Safety regulatory compliance (legislation / policy).
The Candidate Skills required:
- Degree level qualified – Environmental Sciences would be advantageous / recognised formal environmental qualification in environmental management.
- Excellent PC Skills and Systems Knowledge.
- Intermediate Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate MS Project.
- SAP Experience.
- Previous experience Environmental Management in a FMCG Business.
- Knowledge and experience of Environmental issues and opportunities in a complex food production environment.
- Candidate must be willing to be flexible with their working hours.
- A strong understanding of the operating principles and technologies relevant to hazardous waste management, treatment of wastewater, noise, recycling and use of hazardous chemicals.
- High level of communication and negotiation skills to effect behaviour change.
- Knowledge of health and safety beyond personal responsibilities with a willingness to further learning in the subject matter.
- Full support and training will be given.

Requirements:
- You must be eligible to work in the U.K. for the full length of the placement. Valid Visa will be sought.
- You must be available the full length of the placement and be able to travel to the location.
