Ash Meadow is an independent special school based in Sutton Manor, St Helens. Our aim is to provide a child-centred and individualised education for students with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, in a calm and safe environment. The school recently opened an additional campus, which can accommodate an extra 60 children across a vibrant and well-resourced learning environment. Due to the expansion of the school, an amazing opportunity has arisen to join the team.
Ash Meadow is seeking an experienced and dedicated Sports lead to join our team and deliver high-quality, personalised learning experiences that support each student’s development and wellbeing.
We are looking for:
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching students with additional or complex needs.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Experience in planning and delivering engaging lessons to individuals and small groups, tailored to their unique learning needs.
- Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure students make meaningful progress in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment.
- Ability to adapt and deliver lessons in line with the school’s curriculum and individual learning plans.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress and achievements.
- Develop and implement individual education plans.
- Create a positive, well-organised classroom environment.
- Collaborate with Learning mentors to support student learning.
- Manage challenging behaviour and promote self-regulation.
- Liaise with internal teams, families, and external agencies to ensure a consistent approach.
- Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding standards.
- Contribute to school development initiatives and continuous improvement.
