We are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic specialist school in Rayleigh, Essex. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and wants a role where they can genuinely make a difference.
The role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and additional needs
- Working both 1:1 and within small groups
- Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and development
- Helping pupils to engage positively with lessons and school life
- Providing consistent and positive support throughout the school day
- Working closely with teachers, other TAs and the wider school team
- Full-time position starting January 2027
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Is patient, positive and able to build strong relationships
- Is confident supporting pupils with a range of individual needs
- Has a calm and consistent approach
- Is reliable, enthusiastic and enjoys being part of a team
Experience within a specialist school would be an advantage, but we are also interested in people from mainstream education, care, youth work or other SEND-related backgrounds who are looking to move into a specialist school.
