Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – SEND Location: Essex Job Type: Full-Time Start: ASAP / September Recruitment Agency: Bright Futures Recruitment Bright Futures Recruitment is working with a specialist education setting in Essex that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join its team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA who already has SEND experience, or someone currently working within a mainstream setting who has a genuine interest in moving into specialist SEND education. The Role As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers and the wider school team to support children and young people with a range of additional needs. Your responsibilities will include: * Delivering planned learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes * Leading the class when required under the direction of teaching staff * Supporting pupils to access learning and make progress * Adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs * Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation * Helping implement EHCP targets and individual support strategies * Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff * Supporting and guiding other classroom support staff where appropriate * Building positive and consistent relationships with pupils and colleagues Who We’re Looking For We would love to hear from candidates who: * Are experienced HLTAs or have worked at an equivalent level * Are confident leading learning activities and working independently * Have a genuine passion and interest in working within SEND education * Have a calm, patient and positive approach * Are confident supporting a range of learning and behavioural needs * Have strong communication and teamwork skills * Are committed to safeguarding and achieving the best outcomes for young people Previous SEND experience is welcomed but is not essential.
