We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our specialist home in Appleton, Warrington, to provide high-quality care and life-enriching opportunities to the people we support.

Our registered children's home in Appleton, Warrington is based in a peaceful, rural setting, designed to give the children we support a safe, structured and stimulating environment to thrive. The children we support at our home in Appleton enjoy a diverse range of activities. Some of their favourites include long walks in the local area or trips to beaches and parks. They enjoy horse riding, meals out at restaurants, swimming and trampoline parks or just spending time in the sensory room. They take part in in-house activities such as sensory play, including water, sand, light and sound experiences. The children enjoy baking cakes, making pizzas, and arts & crafts activities.

As part of their care team, you will support them with all activities and set them up for a successful and fulfilling life. As a Support Worker, you will be a key part of a young person or adult's support team, listening to their wishes, planning meaningful activities, championing their communication goals and keeping meticulous records. You will help to create a warm, stimulating environment whilst working a mix of day shifts and sleeps to meet individual needs. You'll do more than provide care; you'll be a mentor, advocate, and source of encouragement, helping the people you support to achieve their own individual outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide person-centred care and support tailored to individual needs
  • Build trusting relationships and support emotional and behavioural needs using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication, and household tasks
  • Promote independence and choice, encouraging the people we support to make their own decisions wherever possible
  • Support with day-to-day activities to ensure the people we support make the most of every opportunity

What we're looking for

  • Level 3 diploma in residential childcare, or be willing to work towards
  • Passionate about person-centred care
  • Resilient and tenacious
  • Positive and proactive
  • Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Experience in care is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is advantageous.
