The Role
We are seeking a driven and experienced Registered Manager to lead the home and guide it toward achieving its first Ofsted inspection rating. This is an exciting opportunity to put your stamp on a new service and build a high-quality, child-focused culture from the ground up.
The Registered Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the children receive the highest standards of care and support while leading and inspiring a dedicated staff team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong and effective leadership to the staff team, ensuring a child-centred, nurturing, and consistent approach.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards.
- Work closely with the Responsible Individual and Director to build a service that promotes positive outcomes for children.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans and risk assessments tailored to each child’s needs.
- Ensure robust safeguarding practices are in place, keeping children safe at all times.
- Foster strong working relationships with social workers, education providers, health professionals, and other agencies.
- Lead the home towards achieving a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
- Oversee budgets, resources, and administrative duties effectively.
Requirements
- NVQ/QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within children’s residential care.
- A strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, safeguarding, and children’s legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
- Full UK driving licence.
